Things You Need to Know

Welcome Pack, Arrival & Departure Time

A Welcome Pack with the property address, access code and other details will be sent to the main guest around 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date. You can check-in from 2pm on your arrival day and depart by 10am on your departure day. Our cleaning staff typically arrive promptly at 10am and we frequently have quests arriving on the same day as others are departing.

Getting There

The Quarry Retreat is located in Martinsville which is about 1.5 hours north of Sydney CBD. By car you can take the F1. By train, you can take the Newcastle line and get off at Morisset Station (typically about 2 hours from Central Station). There are limited taxis from Morisset and no ride share options.

Payment Details

30% of the rental amount is payable upon booking confirmation. 70% of the rental amount plus the security bond is payable 30 days before arrival. We will refund the security bond, less any amounts owed, within 10 days of your departure.

Rental Agreement & Guest Identification

For insurance and security reasons, we need to have the rental agreement signed by the main guest and a copy of their valid photo identification, within the earlier of 2-days following the booking and 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival date.

Groceries, Alcohol and Other Shops

The nearest place to buy groceries and alcohol during normal business hours is the IGA and The Bottle-O in Avondale Shopping Village, Alton Road, Cooranbong NSW 2265. About a 10-15 minute drive from The Quarry Retreat.

Wineries

The gateway to the Hunter Valley Wineries is often referred to as Cessnock and a prominent nearby Winery is Peterson House. Cessnock is about 40 minutes and Peterson House, located at Corner Broke Road and Wine Country Drive Pokolbin NSW 2320, is about 45 minutes from The Quarry Retreat.

Lake Macquarie

Lake Macquarie is Australia's largest coastal saltwater lake and is located only 20 minutes drive from the Quarry Retreat.

Movies

The nearest movies cinemas are Event Cinemas located in the Westfield Shopping Centre in Tuggerah, about 30 minutes by car from the Quarry Retreat.

Additional Services By Request

We would be pleased to co-ordinate some additional services for you during your stay. These can include (subject to availability and pricing): Massages, Yoga classes, Catering, Mid stay cleaning or additional linen services

A Few “Nos”

While there are plenty of compelling reasons to book at the Quarry Retreat, we want you to be aware of a few things before booking. We are sorry however we have strict policies around:

No pets on the property (including outside).
No parties, weddings or guests on the property that are not staying overnight.
No smoking or vaping inside the house.
No glass in the pool enclosure.
No parking or driving on the grass.
No loud music after 10pm.
No outside fires.
No cigarette butts or rubbish to be discarded in gardens.
No access to any locked and/or private rooms or cupboards.
No access to the property manager or their residence located beside the shed.

Some Additional Charges

In addition to the fees, charges and security bond listed under “Price and Availability”, there will be additional charges as follows:

A $300 laundry surcharge for bedding and towels.
A cleaning surcharge of $250 if the house is left excessively dirty and a $50 cleaning fee for each BBQ used and Outdoor Kitchen.
If more beds are slept in than the registered number of guests, we will recalculate the accommodation charges assuming there were additional guests.
A damaged grass area remediation fee of at least $500 if you drive a vehicle on any grassed area.
Electricity surcharge of $20 per hour that the air conditioning, heating or tennis court lights are left on after the scheduled departure time and the arrival time of our cleaning staff.
Recovery of any repair costs to the property or furniture.
